Blogs have been the black sheep of the writing and editorial communities for years. As long as so many educational organizations refuse to recognize blogging as a useful platform, blogging can not advance to form a culture of ethical responsibility.
We teach ethical capitalism and environmental responsibilities, why not ethical blogging and responsible social media communication?
Imagine the possibilities of improving digital literacy and other social presence on the internet:
- Reduce the laissez-faire attitudes of poor grammar
- Reduce online bullying
- Improve cultural competence for global communication
- Improve overall ethical standards and personal responsibility
Digital Literacy should be embraced, not discouraged.
